ONTARIO FISHING / THE SITEBy Due North Marketing · Updated

This privacy policy covers Ontario Fishing at ontariofishing.ca, published by Due North Marketing. It describes the website as released on October 9, 2026: fishing guides, stories, a lodge directory, an optional map and the Read the Lake game. Privacy questions can be sent to info@duenorthmarketing.com.

Reading the site

The production website is a set of static pages. You do not need a site account to read the guides or use the directory. We have not added visitor analytics, advertising trackers, a newsletter signup or payment collection. Fonts, main images and the map’s software files are served with the site.

The website code does not set its own cookies or save a visitor profile in your browser. Directory search and region choices work within the open page. The supplied fishing game runs in your browser and does not send your choices or scores to Due North.

The optional directory map

The lodge directory starts with the map off. Selecting Load map or See on map requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap. You can use the business cards and website links without opening it.

When the map is loaded, the tile service receives the network information needed to answer the request, which can include your IP address, browser information and the referring website. The requested tiles also show which map area is being viewed. We do not ask your browser for your own location or send the directory search text to the tile service.

Use Close map to stop the open map and return to the business cards. Data already sent to a provider is not removed by closing it. The map choice is not saved for later visits. Read the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy for the provider’s handling of its services.

Email and phone contact

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any files you choose to send. We use them to answer the enquiry, check a correction or handle the business matter you raised. Our email service processes those messages so we can receive and reply to them.

Send only what is needed. Please keep payment-card details, identity documents and other private material out of routine website enquiries. We keep correspondence for the enquiry and any related business records, and review what still needs to be retained. We do not sell your enquiry details or use them to build an advertising audience.

Hosting and security records

The website host and its network services may keep access and security logs. These may include an IP address, requested page, time, browser details and error information. Such records support delivery of the site, fault checks and protection against misuse. Their storage, retention and processing location depend on the hosting and email services used by Due North.

The private ChatGPT review copy is separate from the public website. Its sign-in and access controls are run by that preview service under its own privacy terms. The static upload package does not include a ChatGPT sign-in system.

Your choices and questions

Leave the map off if you prefer not to request third-party tiles. You can also manage cookies and cached files through your browser. The site has no visitor tracking switch because no analytics or advertising scripts have been added.

Contact us if you want to ask what information we hold from your correspondence, request a correction or discuss removal. We may need enough information to confirm the request belongs to you. Some records may need to be kept for an ongoing business matter or a legal requirement. We will explain the handling of your request.

Policy updates

If the site gains a newsletter, analytics, another map provider or another data service, we will update this page to describe the change and its controls. The date above identifies this release.
